Saxilby Tyres is an independent alloy wheel refurbishment and powder coating workshop on the edge of Lincoln. Stripping, welding, straightening, coating and tyre fitting all happen under one roof, so your wheels never leave our hands and nothing is sub-contracted out. That is how the finish stays consistent, and why we can promise a 3 day turnaround rather than a vague week or two.
Which wheels can actually be saved?
Almost all everyday wheel damage is repairable. Most of what comes into the workshop is rims scuffed on kerbs and parking spaces, lacquer lifting off older wheels, and the white corrosion that creeps out from under the finish after a few Lincolnshire winters. Wheels are stripped back to bare alloy first, so the metal itself is put right rather than filled over, and every layer is oven-baked rather than air-dried.
What does Saxilby Tyres work on?
Saxilby Tyres refinishes wheels from everyday hatchbacks through to vans, motorhomes, classics and motorcycles, in a solid colour or with a diamond-cut face. Brake calipers are refinished too - usually wet sprayed, or powder coated where the job suits it - and the same powder line coats suspension parts, gates and railings. Where is the workshop, and which areas does it cover?
Saxilby Tyres is in Lincoln, a few minutes from the A57, and wheels reach us from Saxilby, Skellingthorpe, Lincoln, North Hykeham, Gainsborough, Newark, Retford, Market Rasen, Worksop, Sleaford and Scunthorpe. Most customers drop the wheels in and collect them once they are done, so the car does not have to stay with us - though we can take the whole car in if that is easier.

How long does a full wheel refurbishment take?
Most sets of four go through Saxilby Tyres on a 3 day turnaround from drop-off. Wheels needing weld repairs or unusual colours can take a little longer - we'll give you a firm timescale when we quote, and we'll always call if anything changes.
How much does alloy wheel refurbishment cost?
Alloy wheel refurbishment at Saxilby Tyres in Lincoln starts from £75 per wheel up to 20", and light kerb damage is included. Heavier damage - chunks out of the rim or deep gouges - may be charged as extra. Larger diameters, split rims and weld repairs are quoted individually - crack weld repair starts from £90 per wheel, and diamond-cut wheels start from £100 per wheel. Can you repair cracked or buckled wheels?
Yes. At Saxilby Tyres, cracks are TIG-welded by a qualified welder and buckles are straightened and checked true before refinishing. We'll always inspect first and tell you honestly if a wheel is beyond safe repair.
Do I need to leave the car with you?
No. Most customers drop just the wheels off at Saxilby Tyres in Lincoln, but if the car needs to stay we can usually accommodate it - mention it when you book. We can also supply and fit tyres while the wheels are with us.
